In spring, Yurihonjo City hosts the Cherry Blossom Festival at Honjo Park. In summer, a wide range of people, from families to couples, enjoy leisure activities at Honjo Marina Beach. The beach is bustling with people, thanks to the campground and hot spring facilities located near it. Then, in January, the annual Honjo Kite Flying Competition is held. This event has been held since 1966. Participants from all over the country bring unique kites and launch them into the sky. It is so famous that many tourists from all over the country come to see the kite flying. Due to the high number of tourists, the city also boasts a wide range of hot spring facilities, including Taki Onsen and Kasumi Onsen.
