Ugo Town, Ogachi District, is a region in Akita Prefecture that experiences heavy snowfall in the winter. In the mountainous areas, snow can reach over 2 meters. This region primarily produces Akita Komachi rice, and also places emphasis on livestock farming. The Nishimonai Bon Odori festival is famous, designated as one of Japan's three major Bon festivals. Due to the popularity of the Bon Odori, the Nishimonai Bon Odori Hall has become a popular tourist spot. You can see the actual Bon Odori dance and see the costumes. There is also the Suzuki Family Residence and the Blue and White Porcelain Storehouse, both of which are very quaint and have been designated as Important Cultural Properties. Ugo Town, Ogachi District, is an area with many such historic buildings.
