About Ogata Village
Nanohana Road is located in Ogata Village, Minamiakita County, in the southwest of Akita Prefecture. Nanohana flowers bloom along the road for about 11 kilometers, and when they are in full bloom, the entire area is covered in a brilliant yellow. This area was created by reclaiming Hachirogata, Japan's second largest lake. You can learn more about this history at the Ogata Village Reclamation Museum, a tourist spot in the village. Other tourist attractions include Ogata Fuji, Japan's lowest mountain, and the Oga Peninsula Ogata Geopark, where you can experience the region's nature. Ogata Fuji is only 1/1000th the height of Mount Fuji, with an elevation of 0 meters. There are stairs, making it easy for anyone to climb.
