Hachirogata Town, Minamiakita District, is located in the northwest of the Tohoku region, in the center of Akita Prefecture. Access to the JR Ou Main Line, National Route 7, and the Akita Expressway makes it an easily accessible location. The area is mostly flat, and unusually for Akita Prefecture, it receives little snow. The low incidence of natural disasters allows residents to live a safe and secure life. Hachirogata Town, Minamiakita District, is home to the Hachirogata Reservoir, which was previously a lake but is now a regulating lake. As such, there are many spots within the town where visitors can see a variety of natural scenery that has remained unchanged since ancient times. The area is currently undergoing revitalization efforts, incorporating new cultures while preserving its traditional scenery.
