About Yatomi City
Yatomi City is located in the southwestern part of Aichi Prefecture, bordering Mie Prefecture across the Nabeta River and the Kiso River. It is also a relatively new city formed in 2006 by the merger of one town and one village. In recent years, residential development has been progressing as a commuter town for Nagoya City. The Hattori family's mansion, which fought wars with the Oda clan, remains in the city as an Important Cultural Property. Not only the main house, but also the detached house, front gate, library, documents, old maps, and residential land have been designated Important Cultural Properties, making it a major tourist spot. Other historical sites include the ruins of Taira Castle and Takenagashi Chaya, as well as the Nagoya Port Golf Club and Nagoya Port Cycling Road, where many people enjoy golfing and cycling.
