Located in eastern Aichi Prefecture, Toyokawa City is one of Japan's leading rose-producing regions. It is also known as the birthplace of spray chrysanthemums. The relatively warm climate, with almost no snowfall even in winter, makes it ideal for cultivating flowering trees. The pleasant climate year-round allows various events to be held throughout the year. Notable events include the Toyokawa Tezutsu Festival, where you can see a traditional hand-held fireworks competition, and the Toyokawa Inari Autumn Festival, where one of Japan's largest lanterns is displayed. Many other traditional festivals unique to Toyokawa are also held. Recently, Toyokawa inari sushi has been actively promoted, and the town is being revitalized through food as well.
