About Setoshi
Seto City is located east of the Nobi Plain and northeast of Nagoya City, the center of the Chubu Economic Zone. Surrounded by small mountains, it has a warm and comfortable climate. Pine and other forests spread across the mountainous areas in the north and east, and this abundant natural environment contributed to the development of Seto's pottery industry. From there, "Seto ware" became synonymous with pottery and became known not only in Japan but around the world. The pottery industry remains a tourist attraction today. Recently, Seto has been developing into a commuter town for Nagoya City. In 2005, Seto co-hosted the World Exposition in Japan with Nagakute Town, attracting many tourists from around the world. The venue has now been reborn as Seto Expo Commemorative Park Ai Park.
