Oguchi Town in Niwa County is blessed with a rich natural environment, with the Gojo River and the Kinshige River flowing through it. The Gojo River is known as a famous cherry blossom viewing spot, attracting many visitors in the spring. Other popular cherry blossom viewing spots include Sakurabashi Bridge and Oguchi Castle Ruins Park. Koi and crucian carp swim in the Fureai Pond, where visitors can observe natural plants and insects. The Historical and Folklore Museum offers insight into the town's history and hosts various events. Many historical sites are also found here, including the Sweating Jizo, a prefectural cultural property; the Hakusan Kofun Group in Hakusan Fureai Forest; the Kanesuke and Mother statue at Saidan Bridge; and the guardian lion statues at Yono Shrine, both of which are treasures. Oguchi Town is also working to promote cooking using rice flour.
