About Nisshin City
Nisshin City in Aichi Prefecture is located almost in the center of the prefecture, on the border with Mikawa. The Tenpaku River flows east to west through the center of the city, and agricultural land spreads across the flat land in the river basin. With numerous universities and other institutions located here, the city has developed in recent years as a suburban town with a university-like character. Tourist attractions in Nisshin include Iwasaki Castle Park, home to Iwasaki Castle, built by Oda Nobuhide, father of Oda Nobunaga, and the Retro Train Museum, which displays a large number of streetcars that ran in Nagoya City from the early Showa period to 1974. The Retro Train Museum features a simulator that lets you experience driving a subway line, making it a popular destination for young children and train-loving adults.
