About Komaki City

Komaki City in Aichi Prefecture is a strategic transportation hub where numerous expressways intersect. As a result, many companies have their headquarters and branches here, and the city is developing as an industrial city. The eastern part of the city also has a large residential area called Tokadai New Town, which is developing as a commuter town for Nagoya City. A famous tourist spot is Mount Komaki, also known as the site of Komakiyama Castle, once built by Oda Nobunaga. Today, it is a popular spot for cherry blossom viewing. The only temple dedicated to breastfeeding in Japan, Mama Kannon, is also famous. The city is also known for its Harvest Festival, one of Japan's three most unusual festivals. It is held at Tagata Shrine, and attracts many visitors every year.
