Toyone Village in Kitashitara District borders two other towns in Aichi Prefecture, four towns and villages in Nagano Prefecture, and Hamamatsu City in Shizuoka Prefecture. Mount Chausu, the highest point in Aichi Prefecture, towers over the village, with 90% of the area covered in mountains. Numerous rivers, including the Tenryu River, also run through the village. Tourism and agriculture are thriving in the village. Seasonal wildflowers bloom on the Chausuyama Plateau, and firefly viewing events are also held. Lake Midori is known as a famous spot for cherry blossoms and autumn foliage, and visitors can enjoy fishing, skiing, and golf at Ikoi no Sato. Other tourist attractions include Yunoshima Onsen, known as Oku-Mikawa's hidden hot spring, and the Green Center Hananoki. The Ayu Festival is held every November, featuring local specialties such as grilled salted sweetfish and gohei mochi.
