About Toei Town
Toei Town in Kitashitara County is surrounded by numerous mountains, including Mt. Myojin, which stands 1,016 meters above sea level. The town is also blessed with abundant nature, with the Ochise River and Nara River flowing through it. With cool summers and almost no snow in winter, the climate is pleasant year-round. During the Meiji period, this area was a major producer of horses, silkworms, and lumber. Even today, it's known for its Mikawa cedar and sells mayu flowers. Agriculture is also thriving, with tea and young chicken wings being local specialties. Numerous events are held here, including the all-night Flower Festival, which sees excitement spread throughout the town. The Toei Festival is held in November, featuring a local product market, Japanese drumming, and yubayashi (traditional Japanese yubayashi) performances.
