About Kitanagoya City
Kitanagoya City is located in the northwest of Aichi Prefecture, adjacent to the north of Nagoya City, and has developed as a commuter town. While the terrain is flat and there are many fields, it is also surrounded by the Meishin Expressway, the Tomei-Meihan Expressway, and the Nagoya Expressway, which means that many factories and logistics facilities are located here. The climate is warm year-round, and agriculture has long flourished in the highly productive fertile soil that has developed in the alluvial plains of the Kiso River and the Shonai River. The city is home to many cultural assets, including the Takada-ji Temple Main Hall and the wooden seated statue of Yakushi Nyorai, designated as Important Cultural Properties by the national government, as well as the former Kato Family Residence, a registered tangible cultural property. The city is also a popular tourist destination, thanks to the remains of a castle and a former residence.
