About Ichinomiya City
Ichinomiya City is located in the northwest of Aichi Prefecture and is designated as a special city. In 2005, it was re-established by incorporating one city and one town. The Kiso River runs along the city's northern and western sections for approximately 18 kilometers, nurturing the city's rich natural environment. In the past, it prospered as a temple town for Masumida Shrine and developed as a traditional textile town. After the Meiji period, textile production was industrialized, and the city rapidly developed as a woolen textile production center, focusing on clothing fabrics. Today, with the Tokai-Hokuriku Expressway and Meishin Expressway connecting Ichinomiya, the city has become an important transportation hub between the east, west, north and south.
