Taketoyo Town in Chita District faces Mikawa Bay and is blessed with abundant water resources, with the Ishikawa and Shinkawa rivers flowing through it. Taketoyo Port has long been known nationwide as a natural harbor. The Ichimachida Wetland Plant Community spreads across the northwestern part of town, where numerous rare carnivorous plants, aquatic plants, and wild birds have been observed. A natural park lies on the hills in the south, and its observation deck offers a panoramic view of Ise Bay. You can also observe rare insects and wild birds. The town's major event is the Snake Carriage Festival, which has a history of over 200 years. Vibrant floats parade through the town, and the excitement is fueled by fireworks that shoot out from the dragon heads mounted on the floats. The coastal area of town is a thriving industrial area, lined with numerous businesses.
