Located within 20km of Nagoya City, Konan City is being developed as a commuter town for the city, and urbanization is progressing year by year. With a warm climate throughout the year, it is known as a livable area, and a variety of plants can be seen throughout the year. The city's flower is wisteria. Mandaraji Park, a famous wisteria spot, holds the Konan Wisteria Festival every year from April to May, which is the wisteria season. Konan City is also the birthplace of Ikoma Yoshino, a concubine of Oda Nobunaga, and many historical sites related to her remain, with the tourist association offering a historical walking trail.
