This is because we believe that wood, which constantly breathes and expands and contracts subtly with climate changes, is ideal for Japan's hot and humid climate. The "wooden frame construction" method, which uses wooden sills to build the foundation, columns, and beams—the framework of a home—has been refined and developed over more than 1,000 years. Its reinforced joints and structural plywood floors provide exceptional earthquake resistance and durability. The building's floor supports, called "floor joists," are made of steel, which resists rust and termites. Compared to conventional materials, they offer greater reliability and provide a sturdy structure with reliable strength. They are resistant to shrinkage and rot even with long-term use, and are easy to maintain. We use "reinforced concrete slab foundations" as standard. Slab foundations cover the entire ground, distributing the building's load and improving durability against settlement and earthquakes. Furthermore, the entire subfloor is concrete, providing moisture protection. This construction method uses structural surface materials that are earthquake-resistant. This construction method offers greater airtightness than conventional methods that use bracing, which absorbs external forces from earthquakes and other events across the entire wall surface, increasing the durability of the entire home. The lack of bracing makes it easier to install insulation without gaps, potentially improving insulation performance. Structural surface materials are used on all exterior walls, and on the interior walls where load-bearing walls are required. (Some properties use bracing on some interior walls.) / For Hajime Construction's homes, we chose the "rigid floor construction method" for the first and second floor floors. This method fastens structural surface materials directly to the foundation and beams, integrating the entire home into a single surface, resulting in a structure that is extremely resistant to lateral forces. This prevents the home from twisting, providing excellent earthquake resistance. / The exterior wall finish is made of ceramic siding. The "exterior wall ventilation method" creates a ventilation space between the wall and the exterior wall finishing material, which efficiently releases moisture inside the wall to the outside air, suppresses internal condensation, improves durability, and in the summer, the ventilation within the ventilation layer can also provide a heat-blocking effect. In addition, the exterior wall is treated so that dirt that has adhered to it can be washed away with rainwater. | |||||
